About the Department
Vision
The vision of the Department of Historyis to make the students aware of the glory of
the past and its legacies through teaching and extension activities in the history of
India at the backdrop of world history. It further includes to connect the history as a
subject with contemporary challenges.The analytical understanding of the past will
enable the students to understand the relevance and importance of the present to the
future.The department accords supreme importance of develop to human resources
with multi-disciplinary ethics, moral values,leadership qualities through intellectual
inquiry,community engagement and appreciation of diversity besides history.
Mission
• To improve the knowledge and skills of students to understand and appreciate
the humanistic values of history for the posterity.
• To visit historical sites to make on the spot study to validate the historical
achievements of our ancestors.
• To develop students communicative skills to link the past with the present for
the better future.
• To enable them to successfully participate in public life such as government
systems,policy making bodies,media and national agencies.
• To make archaeology an integral part of the academic activities of History
students.
